Choosing Clothing Colors That Bring Out Your Eyes

Whether you’re dressing up for a special event or just getting dressed for work, the way your clothing and accessories reflect light can either enhance or diminish certain features of your face. One such feature that we’re going to focus on is color: if you know which colors bring out your eyes and flatter them, you’ll be able to dress to impress. Before we get started, though, let’s look at the basics of reflected color. The way reflected light interacts with certain colors can either enhance your eyes or make them appear dull and washed out. Clothing should never cast a shadow on your face because this will completely remove the emphasis from the eye area. Rather, you want to pick clothing that reflects light in the right areas so that your eyes are brought out.

    What You Need to Know

To understand reflected color, let’s consider a real-life example. A woman wearing an emerald green blouse stands outside on a sunny day in front of a white wall. The wall reflects light onto her face and is also reflecting some of the green tint from her blouse. The result is that her eyes are more intensely green, which brings out the color of her irises and is flattering to her face. However, if this woman were wearing a bright pink blouse, then there would be too much contrast between the colors of the wall and the clothing. Her eyes might appear dull because no part of either color reflects on her eyes.

    Reflected Light

In order to bring out your eye color, you want to choose clothing that reflects light in the right areas so that there’s a balance between light and dark colors. Too much contrast will make your eyes appear dull, while too little contrast will wash them out completely. That means you should avoid wearing all white or black, although black can sometimes be acceptable if you’re wearing bright or shimmering jewelry. Instead, opt for clothing that reflects some light around the eye area rather than directly on it; this will ensure that your eyes are not obscured and are still the center of attention.

    Skin Color

When choosing clothing with reflected light in mind, consider what color your skin is. If you have a lighter skin tone, then you should choose clothes that reflect colors from the blue and purple families. Clothing of these hues will compliment your skin tone, so choose rich blues or purples for business attire. However, if your skin is much darker than white, then opt for clothing in warm colors like red, orange, yellow, and brown. These colors will add warmth and vibrancy to your face, so you can wear them with confidence on a day-to-day basis. If you have a fair skin tone, then both cool and warm colors look good on you. Clothing in the blue family is especially flattering for lighter eyeshades, while clothing in the purple family is ideal for darker eye shades.

If you’re looking for a way to highlight your eyes, then consider wearing clothing with white or black accents. This will ensure that the focus remains on your eyes and not on any other part of your body. For example, if you’re going to a special event and want to really show off those baby blues, try wearing a black shirt with visible white stitching. Or, if you have dark brown eyes and are attending an awards ceremony where everyone will be dressed to the nines, brighten up your outfit by wearing white or silver jewelry. However, if you want to create contrast between your clothing and eye color it’s best not to wear any white or black at all. If you have light eye color, then opt for clothing in the blue family to make your eyes pop, and if you have a dark-eye color, then choose clothing in red or orange hues to really bring out those peepers.

Choosing clothing that brings out your eyes is an art form that’s simple to master with a little practice. It all comes down to considering the right color combinations and understanding how reflected light can enhance your eyes. Keep this info in mind when shopping for bikinis online.
